Rolling Exercise: Before & After Writing. 500 words.

Before & After Writing.   500 words.

I was a bit apprehensive about going to a mega huge festival, so it was suggested to me that I might put all that angst down onto the paper.  The exercise given to me was to:
________________________________________________________________________________
Write a story in the past tense about going to Latitude this weekend (as if you've already been) and describe in breath takingly flamboyant detail about what you eat, how the workshops go, who you meet and how the whole experience feels, sounds, smells.
The main thing is, to write it all before you go as I will be setting you another task on your return....
_______________________________________________________________________

I did do it but found it hugely hard, I sent my before piece off and will soon be settling down to write out my after piece which if I am correct, am anticipating to be much easier.

This was my first stab at writing about something that actually hasn't happened yet - creative writing I guess.  It was a challenge, but probably that's exactly why it was good for me.

Try it now and dust off those cogs.  Feel free to email Angela, Creative Nudges wordsmith and we will post up your entry here.

Rolling Exercises: Drop all and do a 3 MINUTE drawing of a WATCH, CLOCK or other time device....

Indeed, it's time to look away from your computer and engage in something else completely for 3 minutes.

Take a clock, a watch, wall calender, anything and draw it.

Try to be 'in' the drawing, not just squiggle it.  Take down all those little tiny details - what about anything around your time piece?  Draw what's next to it perhaps?

Once your drawing is completed, return to your work.

Drawings you have completed are welcomed here on our webpage - simply email a jpg to info@samanthabarnes.co.uk

Marvellous, well done everyone!

As you were...(only a tiny bit fresher now)
